For more than 22 years, Ridge and Valley Charter School has offered a unique K–8 public charter school education rooted in earth literacy, place-based learning, and a deep connection to the natural world. Based on ecological education and sustainability, our program helps children develop curiosity, responsibility, and a lifelong relationship with the Earth and their community.

To continue this Great Work, we need your help. Our school has outgrown the facilities that have supported us for two decades. The buildings that have served our students so well can no longer meet the needs of the future, and new, sustainable facilities are essential for our program to continue and grow.

Our school has been repeatedly recognized for our deep commitment to sustainability. In 2025 RVCS became the FIRST school in the United States to achieve the international Earth Charter & Education for Sustainable Development School Seal, and we achieved the HIGHEST level of Champion: The Tree! Through our curriculum students express the values and principles of a hopeful sustainable future, taking actions with local and global impact.

Unfortunately, the NJ Department of Education does NOT provide new facility funding for Charter Schools, therefore private support is critical for the future of Ridge and Valley Charter School. Our $10 million capital campaign will help create a sustainable campus designed to support our mission for generations of students to come.
